![]() Food SafetyBlueridge Produce is an industry participant in the development of good agricultural practices brought about by the increase in food safety awareness. We are committed to seeking out better and more effective ways of minimizing or eliminating the risk of microbial contamination through the self-assessment of our facilities and procedures, and employee and grower training and awareness. In 2006, we designed and installed a Lot Coding and Tracking system that identifies product from the receiving station through to the consumer’s refrigerator. This unique system codes the product at the time of delivery to our packing facility. As the product moves through to the final packaging, the clamshells are coded on the side with its original identification code. This allows us to quickly identify and efficiently recall suspect product per container as opposed to a carton code, which may be destroyed after receiving at the retail level. Our processing facility is CFIA registered plant #942. We process blueberries in 30 lb. cartons for sale throughout North America and Europe. Each carton of washed and sorted blueberries is cleared through a metal detection system to ensure the safety of the product from metal contamination.
